Cookbook Authors and Boiled Peanut Entrepreneurs
2007 James Beard Award Winners: Cookbook of the Year

In 1994, brothers Matt and Ted, Charleston natives, began their careers in food by founding a business shipping boiled peanuts and other Lowcountry treats by mail order, The Lee Bros. Boiled Peanuts Catalogue. Since then, they've gone on to write about food and wine for The New York Times, Martha Stewart Living and Travel + Leisure magazine. Their first cookbook, the award-winning Lee Bros. Southern Cookbook, weaves stories of growing up in Charleston with over 220 recipes for both classic (she crab soup) and innovative (boiled peanut ice cream) Southern fare. Their schedule of cooking demonstrations, lectures and sample recipes is available on their cookbook Web site.
